One cookbook's page system, ported to the screen.
Lokta adapts the page layout of Cuisine on Screen by Sachiyo Harada (Prestel), a collection of dishes from Japanese cult cinema.
The peach grounds and Bengali type follow Siddika Kabir's Ranna Khaddo Pushti.
The book pairs a neutral grotesk, a paper-friendly mono, and an editorial serif. Lokta keeps all three.
In the book, marigold fills the film-opener spreads behind dark text, the way a still fills the page. Lokta keeps it that way: a full-bleed ground, never body color, always dark text.
Rules stop short of the margin and close with a hatched end-mark, lifted straight from the cookbook, so a section ends with breath.
Square nodes, ink strokes, straight edges, mono edge labels. Marigold marks the one node to read first. The same theme renders on the web and into Typst.
You do not design a library. You design the quality of an afternoon.
Paper, Ink, Bone, and Indigo. Every text role clears WCAG 2.2 AA on each.
